The phone becomes very hot to the touch and stays warm throughout the day.

The OnePlus 6T processor may become overwhelmed by apps that require a lot of power to function. To fix this solution try closing applications that are open to see if the phone begins to cool down. Having too many apps running will overheat and overwork the processor. If you try this and the phone is still overheating, this could mean your battery needs to be replaced. To replace the OnePlus 6T battery click here.

The OnePlus 6T may overheat while it’s charging or plugged in. If you are not using a certified charger or the original that came with the phone, this could be the reason your phone is overheating. Try only using charging cables from the company OnePlus; this will limit overheating issues.

The OnePlus 6T may experience poor battery life and drainage issues.

First, make sure your phone is updated as it will solve some of the issues. You will want to check the application which is consuming the most of your battery life and remove it—if the app isn’t necessary to your everyday needs. To do this, follow these simple steps:

1.     Navigate to the device’s settings page.

2.     Once there, look for the battery section and tap it.

3.     If you tap on the battery icon you will be able to see each individual app’s battery consumption.

4.     If there are apps consuming a lot of battery that you don’t require, permanently remove them from your device by clicking remove.

Clearing all the cache that’s collected from apps and websites will help increase battery performance as cache will slow down your machine considerably. To do so, follow these steps:

1.     Turn off the One Plus 6T.

2.     Press and hold the volume up button as well as the power keys until the Android company logo appears on your screen.

3.     Release both of the buttons.

4.     This will initiate recovery mode. There will be several options listed, however, you want to scroll using the volume keys and click “wipe cache partition” using the power key.

5.     To navigate out of recovery mode, restart the OnePlus 6T

6.     Your cache has been cleared.

When you click a button on the screen, it takes longer than normal for the phone to react.

Lag may be caused by software that is not up to date. To update the phone’s software, go to oneplus.com and download the software build for your device on this page. Make sure to back up your data before updating the device. Plug the phone into your computer and copy the downloaded .zip to your phone’s storage. After the .zip file is copied to your phone, go to ‘Settings’ and click ‘system update’ on the computer. On the phone, click the ‘settings’ icon on the top right corner, choose ‘Local upgrade’, The .zip file should appear. Click on ‘Install’ to confirm.

When attempting to connect to Wi-Fi, the connection fails.

The Wi-Fi option in the settings may not turn on. Turn your phone off and turn it back on again. That should resolve the issue.

The phone may stop at the “obtaining IP address” phase of connection to Wi-Fi and fail after a short while. A potential solution would be to go into the settings app and tap on the “Wi-Fi” option. From there, tap on the name of the network you are trying to connect to. Tap on the option to forget the network, and then turn the Wi-Fi option off. Turn it back on again and reconnect. If this doesn’t work, try turning your phone off and turning it back on again.

Some users find that the auto brightness feature on the One Plus 6T is either too dark to view comfortably or that it doesn’t work altogether

The OnePlus 6T’s auto brightness will detect which brightness setting you continue to manually set it to, and will gradually adjust its auto brightness to match this. You may just need to give the auto brightness more time to adjust to your preferences.

Many users find that disabling the auto brightness on the OnePlus 6T is a workable solution. To disable the auto brightness on your OnePlus 6T, go to your settings, then select display. Here, you should be able to find and select the adaptive brightness feature. From here, you can toggle the adaptive brightness off.

Another solution is to use the Lux Auto Brightness app, which will manage the auto brightness on your phone without having to use the adaptive brightness setting. The free version of the app, Lux Lite, can be found here.

If you’re experiencing problems with auto brightness adjusting to your environment, your phone’s sensors may be obstructed by dust and grime. Dusting your OnePLus 6T’s sensors with a clean microfiber cloth could solve your auto brightness issues.
