  • Place the chair horizontally, putting it on its side.

  • The base is connected to the chair either with retaining clips or nuts and bolts at its center.
  • Remove the retaining clips or unscrew the nuts and bolts with a wrench or drill.
  • Remove the base of the chair.

  • Place a pipe wrench on the gas cylinder, and spray it with WD-40 to lubricate it and make it easier to remove.
  • Twist and pull the wrench to loosen the cylinder and remove it from its place.

  • Look up the chair’s part number to find which gas cylinders are compatible with your chair.

  • Be sure to follow the instructions for your specific gas cylinder, since installation procedures may vary.
  • Place the tapered part of the cylinder into the column and rotate it into place.
  • Reconnect the base of the chair.
  • Place the chair upright and adjust the chair to your preferred height. Test it out by sitting on it.
