No matter what you do, the device will not turn on.

The device should have a battery life of around 8 hours when fully charged. Check to see if the device is charged. Try plugging the device in for a few minutes and powering it on. If the device only turns on while it is plugged into an adapter you will need to replace the battery. Here is the Battery Replacement Guide.

To reset the device, press the power and the volume down button simultaneously. Hold both buttons down together for approximately 10 seconds. Once the device enters the reboot screen, scroll down to “wipe data and reset”. Be aware: if you reset your device you will lose all of your data. Your device is on and charged but the screen remains dark.

If the display is faintly visible, try going into the settings and increasing the screen brightness. If the display is still too dim or not responding to the brightness increase, you may need to replace the backlight.

If the screen is damaged in any way, you might need to replace the screen in order for it to power up. Here is the Glass Screen Replacement Guide. Note that this guide will only show you how to replace the glass that rests on top of the display.

There is no sound coming from the device.

The volume might be set to “0”. Make sure that the volume is turned up and check the settings. Also make sure the program you are using is not muted. Some websites may have their own volume settings that you need to set.

The camera cannot take pictures or has no display.

Check to see if anything is blocking the camera lens. Make sure there is sufficient lighting when taking a picture. If the camera still is not functioning, you may need to replace the camera. Here is the Camera Replacement Guide.

Your device’s battery life is very short and quickly runs out of energy.

The device will not be able to charge if the cable or wall adapter you are using is damaged. Try using a different cable or plugging your device into a different wall outlet.

Make sure the device is fully charged before unplugging. Make sure all programs are closed when the device is not in use or else they will continue to run in the background and consume battery resources.

A dirty charging port might prevent your device from charging. Take a can of compressed air and spray it into the charging port. This should clear the port of any debris that may be lodged.

If the battery still will not stay charged you may need to replace your battery. A good way to tell if your battery is faulty is if the device can turn on without being plugged to an adapter.
