Step 1
Take off the Top Frame
- Wedge the plastic opening piece underneath the bottom left hand corner of the front frame
- Pry open the front frame.

Step 2
Remove the screws
- Remove every visible screw tying the chassis to the bottom frame using a T-4 screwdriver bit.

Step 3
Remove the Battery
- Carefully remove the bottom frame from center chassis.
- Detach the battery ribbon from the motherboard.
- Flip the center chaise onto the screen side with the hole positioned on the bottom right hand corner.

Step 4
Unscrew the speaker
- In the bottom left hand corner remove the 3 screws that at attached to the speaker
- Disconnect the small red and black ribbon connected to the speaker from the white clip on the mother board.
- Replace old speaker with new speaker then follow instructions in reverse order to reassemble

After purchasing a replacement speaker, these steps worked well. Process to a fairly relaxed 20 minutes.
The only thing I’d add is that the speaker is part # AAC121217U22A, and appears to be a bespoke part containing two speakers.
Knowing what part to look for may help others looking for a replacement part.
