What you need

Step 1

              Remove the front frame               
  • Wedge the plastic opening piece underneath the bottom left hand corner of the front frame. Pry the frame off of the Nook.

Step 2

              Remove the screws               
  • Remove every visible screw tying the chassis to the bottom frame using the T-4 attachment for the screwdriver in the iFixit screwdriver kit.

Step 3

              Remove the chassis               
  • Carefully remove center chassis from bottom frame.

              Detach battery               
  • Detach the battery ribbon from the motherboard.

Detach the battery ribbon from the motherboard.

Step 5

              Remove the battery               
  • Pry battery off of bottom frame using plastic opening tool.

Step 6

              Place new battery               
  • Apply glue to the bottom side of new battery. Re-insert new battery onto bottom frame and allow to dry. Follow steps in reverse to put nook back together.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
