Phone does not respond to touch gestures

Ensure that the touchscreen is free of dust, oil or water. If it is, use a soft cloth to clean your device’s screen careful not to scratch the screen.

If the screen is still unresponsive after a wipe down, consider restarting the phone. Allow the phone to be off for one minute before powering it back on.

Nokia 6 audio doesn’t play properly

This might be unlikely, but it usually is the easiest to problem to eliminate. Try your Nokia 6 with different sets of speakers and headphones to make sure that the problem is phone, not the external devices.

In some newer phones, the phone’s system update causes the DOLBY Surround Sound to not function as intended. To fix the issue, turn off DOLBY Surround Sound. To turn this off, go to Settings, select Sound, select DOLBY Surround Sound, then toggle the ON/OFF switch. Finally, perform a hard reset on the phone.

The phone does not unlock when you place your finger on the fingerprint scanner

Ensure that the fingerprint scanner is free of oil and dust. Since this is the touched every time you unlock the phone, it’s more likely to have dirt on it.

Wash your hands to make sure that there is nothing preventing your fingerprint from being read. If this does not work, reset the fingerprint presets under settings. You can do this by navigating into Settings, then selecting Security, and finally Fingerprint.

The SD Card is not detected by your device

The solution may be as simple as taking out the SD Card and putting it back into the slot. The SD card slot is located on the left side of the phone. Eject the SD card and wait 30 seconds before reinstalling the SD Card.

If reinserting the SD Card does not fix the problem, try turning off the device for at least 60 seconds and powering it back on. A combination of the two may be required, meaning the SD Card needs to be removed, the phone powered off, then back on, and the SD Card reinserted.

If neither of the above work, try gently cleaning off both the SD Card and the SD Card Slot with a cloth or compressed air before inserting the SD Card.

The phone becomes really hot after extended use

An application on your phone might be too much for the phone to handle. Highly graphical video games or large applications would warm up the phone after extended use. Consider taking a break from the game or opening the applications one at a time while using them.

This might be because you are not using the original charging cable. Consider purchasing the original cable if the phone is overheating while charging and you do not own it.

If the phone is still overheating after following the previous troubleshooting steps, it might be due to having an old battery. If this is the case, consider installing an app to control your phone’s temperature. If this still continues, replace the battery as soon as possible.
