              Left Bumper               
  • Remove the SD card and the game cartridge from the device.

              Battery removal               
  • Unscrew the two captive screws on the battery cover panel with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
  • Remove the battery cover panel.
  • Remove the battery.

  • Remove the four visible screws on the battery panel using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • Remove the screw covers and remove the screws.

  • Remove the tiny screw by the game card compartment.

  • Lift the battery panel off of the device.
  • Grab from the cartridge holder and pull back to remove.
  • Be careful to not pull off ribbons from the motherboard.
  • Disconnect the ribbon cables from the motherboard.

  • Remove the left bumper assembly screws.
  • Remove the spring.
  • Note that the spring could eject as you do this.
  • Remove the hinge pin.

  • Separate the bumper from the bumper assembly.

Step 9

  • Using your fingers, remove and replace the left bumper ribbon cable.
  • Pull carefully on the ribbon cable so as to not damage it and/or the case.
  • The ribbon cable can be removed by other means such as using gloves or a microfiber cloth if preferred.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
