No matter what you do, you can’t get your Coolpix to turn on.
Before delving inside your Coolpix, make sure you’ve tried turning the camera on by holding down the hold switch. The hold switch is located on top of the Coolpix next to the shutter button.
If your Coolpix won’t turn on, you may simply have a drained battery. Try charging the camera for a few hours before turning it on again.
It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the display is bad. If the Coolpix is turned on and the battery is fully charged, but your camera will not turn on it is possible the display is bad and must be replaced.
If your Coolpix still does not work after attempting the above solutions, the problem most likely lies in the logic board of the camera.
When my camera is plugged into my computer, the computer does not recognize the camera
Putting the memory card directly into the computer bypasses any problems that may exist between the camera/computer connection.
The cable may have formed a bad connection or it could not have been physically plugged in properly. Plug the cable back in carefully to ensure a good connection.
If the cord is broken, then the problem lies with faulty wiring within. You may need to purchase a new cord.
Access to data on the camera may require the connected computer to have certain software downloaded in order to communicate with your camera. Downloading this could potentially be important for getting desired data off your camera. Check the official Nikon website to find out more about the most recent Coolpix software.
No matter what you do, you can’t get your Coolpix lens to open.
Remove the batteries and check if there is corrosion in the battery port. Replacing them with new batteries to make sure that the camera has enough power it needs to start up properly.
If there is a foreign particle lodged in the lens mechanism it will prevent it from opening properly. It is important to be careful with any attempt to clean the lens device, but compressed dust remover is often an easy and effective way of doing this.
No matter what you do, you can’t get your Coolpix to connect to Wifi.
Before attempting to decrypt the Coolpix physically, simply try to relocate to a more prime position towards the Wifi router that is producing the given signal.
If your Coolpix won’t connect to Wifi through an Iphone, Ipad, Android Smart Phone, or Android tablet, make sure that the ‘WMAU’ (Wireless mobile Adapter Utility) has been installed onto the given device. Download the app on the given device via Apple Store or the Google Play Store.
