The Nikon Coolpix S220 is a compact 10.0 Megapixel Digital Camera. Designed with a 2.5 inch LCD Resolution screen and a 3x optical zoom lens. The Nikon Coolpix offers a Smart Portrait System, which includes Red-Eye Reduction and Face Priority. Also included is Image Stabilizer, Motion Detector, and Best Shot Selector.
This should reset the camera and turn on.
If this fails read on.
If battery is not charged, then do so.
If still not turning on, continue reading.
May need to buy a completely new battery.

Make sure camera is charged, turned on, and not connected to a computer or t.v.
It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the monitor is bad. In this case the display is faulty and must be replaced. See Nikon Coolpix S220 LCD Replacement for instructions to do so.
Make sure flash is on in a dark setting. Can also try using a tripod to ensure stability.
Confirm this setting is turned on.
Some modes do not require a flash such as Flower, Video, or Landscape.
If flash is still not working may need to refer to a repair guide on how to replace the flash lens.
The file that holds the images and videos may have been overwritten by a computer when plugging in device. You must undo this so the camera is able to read the images and display them as desired.
If camera is in Video Mode the optical zoom will not work.
Confirm setting is set to ON. If still not working it may be due to the type of mode the picture is in.
For Example:

Non of the above allow the Digital Zoom
If picture is cropped below 320x240 zoom is no longer allowed.

Often times the clock will be slightly off as the battery runs low, to fix just check the clock on the camera to a reliable source and reset as necessary.
If the clock is not set when recording takes place, the date will be displayed as “00/00/0000 00:00”. To change, simply go to the Setup Menu - DATE and enter the correct information.

Noise in an image is usually caused by the flash reflecting of particles in the air or when a picture is underexposed/Overexposed.

Must choose Video Mode or the pictures will not be displayed.
If pictures are in the internal memory (not on memory card) then remove the memory card and the t.v. should be able to display pictures
