The screen is not doing what it should. It is not showing pictures properly, or is simply not on at all.

You may not have turned the camera on. Hold the power button until the screen lights up.

You may need to replace the screen.

The lens is not performing certain functions, such as zooming or focusing.

The lens mechanism may have debris stuck internally. In order to remove debris, the lens will need to be removed. Follow our guide to replace a lens in order to disassemble the lens.

The camera may not be able to zoom because the zoom buttons are hindered or damaged. Refer to our guide on broken buttons.

The lens may need to be replaced. In this case, follow our replacement guide.

The camera buttons are not responding when pressed.

There may be grime under the buttons. In this case, use a q-tip with rubbing alcohol around the edges of the button.

The motherboard may need a replacement. In this case, follow our guide on replacing a motherboard.

The flash does not work when it is supposed to.

Make sure to turn the flash on, and make sure to switch from auto to on if you want the flash to go off every time.

The flash bulb may need to be replaced. In this case, follow our replacement guide.

Your battery may not be charged.

Go into options and be sure that the “Charge by computer” option is turned off.

If this does not help, you may need to replace your battery.
