Introduction
This guide will walk you through the steps to replace the throttle on a 26-inch New Speed electric bike. Make sure that your bike is off and not receiving power before starting.
What you need
Step 1
Electric Bike Throttle
- Remove the 3/32" Allen screw from the top of the throttle.
- When removing the screw, make sure the wrench is well seated to avoid damaging the screw.
- Make sure that your bike’s power is turned off before beginning to disassemble it.

Step 2
- Remove the 5/64" Allen screw from the underside of the throttle.

Step 3
- Slide the throttle off of the handlebar.
- Be careful when removing the throttle. Taking it off too quickly could result in damage to the wiring.

- Remove the two 2mm Phillips screws from the back of the control box.
- Repeat this process for the other side of the control box. 4 screws will be removed in total.

Step 5
- Open the control box.

- Unwrap the cable lining surrounding the throttle cable.
- Track the throttle cable to the control box.
- Disconnect the JST-SM connector from the main controller.
- Take caution while handling these wires. They can be easily damaged.

- Cut the zip ties found along the frame of the bike.
- Remove the throttle and its wires from the frame of the bike.
- Be careful not to cut too close to the wires, as you could risk damaging them or hurting yourself.

To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.
