Step 1

              Remove the alarm:
  • Remove the Protect from it’s backplate by twisting counterclockwise on the device until it releases.

              Unscrew the backplate
  • Unscrew the backplate.
  • Battery operated: Fully remove the backplate screws.
  • Hardwired: Slightly remove the backplate screws and twist the backplate.

Unscrew the backplate.

Battery operated: Fully remove the backplate screws.

Hardwired: Slightly remove the backplate screws and twist the backplate.

Step 3

              Remove the backplate:
  • Pull the backplate off the wall.

Pull the backplate off the wall.

Step 4

              Reinsert the backplate
  • Place the backplate on the wall.
  • Battery Operated: Screw in the backplate.
  • Hardwired: Twist the backplate so it locks into place and snug the screws

Hardwired: Twist the backplate so it locks into place and snug the screws

Step 5

              Reinstall the alarm
  • 1ST Generation: Twist clockwise until it clicks into place
  • 2ND Generation: Twist clockwise until it grips and adjust to fit the wall or ceiling of wall mounted.

2ND Generation: Twist clockwise until it grips and adjust to fit the wall or ceiling of wall mounted.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
