Step 3
security screws
- Also the front two screws are safety screws: they have a 6 sided star shape with a raised dimple in the center to prevent homebodies from casually opening the machine. (probably from the Sunbeam’s (owns Mr. Coffee) legal dept.) Anyway you will need a security bit to remove the screws and not a phillips screw driver.

Step 4
- Lift base to remove.
- If the base sticks along one edge, do not pull at an angle. Gently tug straight up while sliding a finger along the edge in order to pop the clips.

how can I buy this part
Mackenzie Aiken - Jun 19, 2016
That is indeed the question. Because of planned obsolescence companies basically assume you will just buy an entirely new coffee maker. My best suggestion is to buy a similar model at a thrift store like Goodwill and use the parts from that.

I noticed red hose - and transparent hose - when one uses one or other - not all are FDA approved as food grade hoses ?
I thought transparent is often food grade FDA marked - and it can be marked high temp up to 500 degrees
But never the red - the red is high temp but it may not be food grade - Question:" How to verify when one has the hose that it is from a seller ?
How is best way to verify hose as drinking water safe ?
What diameter hose should one get for Model : BVMC-SJX33GT [ Mr Coffee Maker ] ? Metric/English -size for it is ?

How much life you get from the repair depends on how corroded the aluminum tube is. While there are deposits that can be wiped out , bad metal corrosion needs refinishing to be smooth and prevent the smallest leaks of steam even with a new hose. New tighter spring clamps will help. So even if a major leak is stopped, a steam leak will make the bottom damp.
