Introduction
The fingerprint sensor identifies the user in order to unlock the phone, make secure online purchases, and sign into apps.
Before starting the repair, check the list of tools that you will need. Be careful when removing the adhesive from the back of the phone and when removing the sensor. Ensure the device is completely turned off and not connected to any power sources.
What you need
Step 1
Fingerprint Sensor
- Insert an opening pick under the screen, starting at the top of the phone.
- Work the pick along the edges of the phone while placing them in the corners.
- After placing the picks along the edge of the screen, refer to step 2.
- Unlike the front of the phone, it is fine to use the picks on the left side of the phone because there are no cables that can be damaged.
- While not necessary, applying a heat gun will weaken the adhesive, making this step significantly easier and quicker.

Hello, the connector of the fingerprint scanner isn’t actually detachable from the back. In order to reach it you need to take the screen off, so this tutorial is only partially helpful for fixing the fingerprint scanner.
