The Parent Unit does not show signs of powering up.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the power supply may not be connected properly. Ensure it is plugged into both a wall outlet and the charging port on the unit.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the battery may be dead. The battery can be recharged by connecting the unit to the power supply.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the battery may no longer hold a charge. In this case the battery will need to be replaced. Refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Battery Replacement guide.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the internal power button’s soldered connections may have broken from normal wear and tear. This will result in the power button being unable to complete the electrical circuit. The unit must be disassembled and the connections re-soldered.

The Baby Unit does not show signs of powering up.

The power supply for the Baby Unit is not interchangeable with the one for the Parent Unit. Ensure that the power supply being used for the Baby Unit is rated at 5V DC and 1000mA.

The internal circuits in the wall plug end can become damaged due to electrical surges or from being dropped or crushed. If this is the case the power supply is not repairable and must be replaced with a new one from the manufacturer or other retailer. The power supply must be rated at 5V DC and 1000mA.

Excessive pulling or bending of the power supply cord will result in broken or frayed wiring. Ensure that the power supply is unplugged from the wall outlet before inspecting the cord. If the cord is broken or frayed, it must be repaired by cutting it and stripping back the wires. The wires must be reconnected using proper connectors rated for the application.

Rough handling or long term and frequent use may result in the charging port coming loose inside the Baby Unit. If this is the case the power supply plug will not firmly attach to the unit or a rattling sound will be heard from inside of the unit. The charging port must be repaired.

Noise interference heard coming from the Parent Unit

If the Parent and Baby Units are less than three feet apart, this will cause noise interference. Move the units further than three feet apart to eliminate noise interference.

If either of the units are near electrical equipment such as a television, this will cause noise interference. Move the unit(s) further away from the electrical equipment to eliminate noise interference.

Both the Parent and Baby Units connect using a 2.4 GHz wireless frequency and any other equipment operating on the same frequency may cause noise interference. If this is the case, move the unit(s) at least 5 feet away from the source of the signal to eliminate noise interference.

The audio from the either unit has static, crackles or is distorted.

From the menu on the Parent Unit press the button that lowers the volume.

Having the microphone too close to a source of sound will create background noise. Move the Baby Unit away from the source of sound. If the Baby Unit cannot be moved, the source of the sound must be removed.

If the microphone on the Baby Unit no longer functions due to being damaged, it will need to be replaced. Please refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Baby Unit Microphone Replacement guide.

If other causes have been ruled out, the speaker in the Parent Unit may be damaged and will need to be replaced. Please refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Parent Unit Speaker Replacement guide.

If other causes have been ruled out, the speaker in the Baby Unit may be damaged and will need to be replaced. Please refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Baby Unit Speaker Replacement guide.

The screen on the Parent Unit does not show a display.

If the screen on the Parent Unit is not showing a display, it may be turned off. Press power button to turn on.

If the Parent Unit is on battery power only, the screen shuts off to save power. The screen can be turned on again by pressing any button.

If the screen on the Parent Unit is not showing a display, the video screen may be turned off. Press video button to turn on.

If the screen on the Parent Unit is not showing a display, the Parent and Baby Units may not be connected. Ensure that camera on Baby Unit is linked to and selected as video input on Parent Unit.

If other causes are ruled out, the video screen is bad and will need to be replaced. Please refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU LCD Screen Replacement guide.

The images on the video screen while using night vision mode are dim or hard to see.

If the display is hard to see in night vision mode, the video display settings may be too dim. Adjust controls on the Parent Unit to make image brighter.

The camera’s night vision function requires a small amount of light to function properly. If there is not sufficient light in the room, place a night light or small lamp in the room and ensure it is on.

If other causes are ruled out, the night vision sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.
