The phone functions properly, but it will not stay powered on for very long. Even when the battery has a full charge, it will not last for the rated time.

Over time, the capacity of a battery will decrease, and there is no way to retrieve this lost capacity. To solve this problem, replace the battery in the back of the phone with a new battery. See the replacement guide here.

Your phone powers on and the screen works. However, the cannot perform any actions, such as placing calls, with the phone.

The Motorola i1000plus has an option to lock the phone in order to prevent unauthorized access. To unlock the phone, first try to enter the last three digits of your phone number to unlock the phone. If that does not work, enter the factory preset lock code of ‘123’ to unlock the phone. If neither of the previous two unlock codes work, call your service provider to unlock the phone.

Without a functioning keypad, you will not be able to use this phone. If the buttons on the phone do not work, the keypad circuit board may be defective. To solve this problem, replace the keypad circuit board. See the replacement guide here.

Pressing the power button will not turn on the phone.

The phone needs a source of power in order to operate. Verify that the battery is properly inserted in the back of the phone. See the replacement guide here.

The battery must also have enough charge in order to power the phone. Verify that the battery is properly inserted in the back of the phone and then plug the charger into the bottom of the phone. Leave the charger plugged in for a few hours to charge the battery. Then, remove the charger and attempt to turn on the device.

Pressing the power button will turn on the phone, but there is no display on the screen.

Sometimes electronic devices do not power on properly. First, remove the battery from the phone to turn the phone off completely. See guide for battery removal (here). Then hold down the power button to turn the phone on again.

There is a small ribbon cable inside of the phone that connected the screen circuitry to the phone’s motherboard. This ribbon cable can become disconnected. To solve this problem, simply reconnect the ribbon cable to the motherboard. View the motherboard replacement guide (here) to see the exact location of this ribbon cable.

Phone will not connect to service network when attempting to make calls.

Most of the time calls cannot be placed due to a poor signal strength in your area. Make sure your service provider has service in your location before attempting to place a call. Contact your service provider for a map of their cell phone services in your area.

This device is equipped with an antenna to detect weaker signals. Extending the antenna will lead to better reception. Be sure the antenna is fully extended before attempting to place a call.

The antenna can be easily removed. It may have come loose or be missing entirely. Be sure an antenna is present and properly inserted. You may need to replace antenna completely. See the replacement guide here.

Calls will go through, but you cannot hear the person on the other end of the call.

Strong signals are required to make phone calls. Be sure your service provider has strong coverage in the area before placing the call. Contact your service provider for a map of their cell phone services in your area.
