No matter what you do, you can’t get your Droid RAZR M to turn on.
Even when the phone is not being used it still sips power waiting for phone calls or text messages. Your battery could have died, this can be remedied by using the included charging cable. If the battery will not charge, it might need to be replaced.
The Droid RAZR M is only rated as splash resistant, so it is not meant to be exposed to more than a little bit of water. If there is evidence of condensation or fog in the device your phone is probably water damaged and will not function.
It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the display is faulty or not lighting up. You may need to replace the display.
Dropping your phone can cause damage to the internals even without obvious external damage. You may need to replace the motherboard or display.
Droid RAZR M is on, but no sound is coming through the speakers.
The phone’s volume may be low or muted. Press the volume rocker on the side of the phone until the desired volume has been found. It is possible that you cannot hear the sound over the ambient noise in the room. Volume settings can be adjusted in the Settings app under Sound.
If the icon displayed in the volume settings is a speaker with a line through it, the volume is muted for that item. Drag the slider as you would to increase the volume and it will no longer be muted.
If you have headphones plugged into the phone, the sound will play through the headphones and not the speaker. Try unplugging your headphones.
The speaker in the phone may not be working. Try turning off and on the phone. It is possible the speaker may need to be replaced.
Headphones are plugged in, but no sound comes out.
The application you are using may not use any audio.
The headphone port on your phone is always exposed and could get lint trapped inside of it. This will get in the way of the connection between the headphone’s plug and the socket. Blow into the headphone port or use compressed air to clear it out.
Your headphones may be broken and need to be replaced. Try using the headphones with a device that you know to play sound through headphones.
The phone’s headphone jack may be physically broken and need to be replaced.
Your phone is plugged into the charger but will not charge.
Make sure the wall socket that you are plugging that charger into works by charging other devices with it. Some wall sockets require a switch to turn it on.
Make sure the charger is functional by testing it on another phone with a USB 2.0 charging port.
The battery may be unable to charge because it is dead, in which case it would need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement battery from a third party or from Motorola.
The USB charging port may be broken, in which case it would need to be replaced. A guide on replacing the USB charging port will be posted soon.
The display works but will not respond to touch.
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any dirt, water, or grease. This can interfere with touchscreen recognition.
If the screen is physically shattered or cracked, it will need to be replaced.
Most gloves will interfere with the touchscreen. Remove any material covering your fingers.
