Before trying to troubleshoot your Motorola C139’s problems, try resetting the phone by turning it off and back on or by removing the battery.

No matter what you do, you can’t get your phone to turn on.

Make sure the battery in the phone is fully charged. Plug the power chord into the phone and a power outlet.

Hold the red power button for about 5 seconds. If this does not turn the phone on the problem may be with a loose or bad battery.

Remove the battery from the back of the phone and wait 30 to 60 seconds. Put the battery back into the phone and see if the phone will now turn on.

It may be necessary to purchase a replacement battery. Look at the battery guide for help removing the old battery and installing a new battery.

The phone is unable to call anyone.

The phone may not be receiving a signal. Check the signal icon to see if you are connected to the network. If you have no signal, relocate to a new location.

The Sim card may be missing or was damaged. The Sim card may need to be replaced.

The antenna may be damaged and may need to be replaced.

When the phone is put into standby mode it turns itself off.

The battery may have died. Plug the power chord into the phone and a power outlet and see if it will charge.

Your phone’s standby mode may be activating causing the phone to automatically turn off after a period of time has passed. To check whether this is the case, check the settings menu on the phone to see if standby mode is activated.

The charging cord may be broken and need to be replaced.

The phone no longer vibrates or has a weak vibration

If you have noticed that your phone no longer vibrates the vibration mechanism may be broken and needs to be replaced. Follow the guide to replace the vibration mechanism.

No sound is coming from the phone.

Your phone’s speaker may be faulty. Following the steps in the guide to replace the speaker.

The keypad is sticky due to a spill or for another reason.

Before taking the phone apart. This problem might possibly be fixed by lightly wetting a cloth and wiping the keypad gently.

The keypad may need to be replaced or taken out for more intensive cleaning. See the guide for replacing the keypad.

The phone was dropped and now the phone casing is cracked.

The phone casing will have to be replaced with a new one. To detach the casing from the actual phone, follow this guide for the front casing and this guide for the back casing.
