The eyelet has either fallen off or is loose.

Open up the camera to see if the screws holding it in place are loose. Tighten these screws to secure the eyelet.

Check to make sure that the rings are not bent or broken. If they are, replace them with help from this replacement guide.

Buy the individual eyelets for your device and the amount of screws that are needed. Open up your device and screw in the strap eyelets.

The flash piece does not pop up when a flash photo is attempted.

Before you do anything else, make sure you take a good look at the flash assembly popup and see if it is dirty. Particles can keep the flash assembly from popping up. This fix is very easy; all you have to do is clean it out. Here are steps on how you can clean the flash assembly popup.

  • Leave your camera on and put it on automatic modePry your fingernail under the flash so that when you get ready to take a picture you can pop up the flash on your own.You do not have to pry the flash assembly popup with your fingernail, it can be with a tool of your choice (i.e. toothpick, etc.).Lift the flash assembly as you take a picture. Finally, make sure you clean all the areas so that the flash assembly popup does not get stuck again.

A lot of times people may think their camera is broken when the flash assembly doesn’t pop up, but the fix is very easy if it’s stuck because there are bacteria that need to be cleaned around the popup flash. It often doesn’t allow the popup flash to pop when you want to take a picture with flash.

  • You do not have to pry the flash assembly popup with your fingernail, it can be with a tool of your choice (i.e. toothpick, etc.).

On your flash assembly there are two little screws that allow the flash to pop open when you want to take a flash picture. To find the two important screws and tighten them follow these steps:

  • Open the flash assembly popup with your nail, toothpick, or like device (your choice). There will be two little screws on each side of the flash assembly. Tighten them with a screwdriver as needed.

If you do not see these two little screws on each side, then you might have to run down to a store and get the correct sized screws to replace them. If they are to be loose, then just grab a screwdriver and screw them in tight. If you determine that the flash assembly is loose because it is broken, you can replace it by looking at this replacement guide.

The device will turn itself off or malfunction when it is too hot.

If your camera abruptly shuts down it may be because there are dirt or dust particles on the inside of it. To fix this problem, regularly wipe down and dust your camera. Make sure to focus your cleaning on the internal pieces of the device.

If your camera shuts down randomly there may be a problem with the power. Power replacement is needed in this type of situation. Take out the batteries in your camera for 30 seconds and then put them back in. If you continue to have automatic shutdown problems, take out the batteries and replace them with new ones.

An overworked camera can easily overheat and process slower. There are two obvious signs to look for when your camera starts to slow down; when you notice its slow reaction time and when you hear it overworking. When your cameras’ picture taking or overall processing system slows down, turn it off and allow it to rest for a minute or two. In the event of you hearing your camera attempt to process any configuration do not try to change more settings, instead hold down the power button until it turns off. Now let it rest for a few minutes before turning it back on.

Your camera may be overheating if it feels warm or hot to the touch. This is a bad situation because it could lead to a fried motherboard which would require a full replacement. When you start to worry that your device is feeling too warm, you need to ensure that it is in an appropriately ventilated environment. Small hot spaces will increase the external and internal temperatures of your camera, causing it to overheat. Make sure to store your device in a cool location and in an appropriate camera case. An appropriate case can help keep the camera cool.

If your camera still will not turn on at all, after you have attempted to fix the power supply and clean the device, it may have overheated to the point where the motherboard is fried. Open up the back of your camera to assess the situation. If you smell smoke or see that your motherboard exhibits charred circuitry, then your motherboard is indeed fried. At this point the only way to repair your camera is to replace the motherboard, and you can learn how to replace it by following this repair guide.

The camera is unable to mount on a tripod.

Make sure that the inside of the tripod socket is free of debris or foreign objects. Use an air compressor to blow out dust or dirt from the socket.

If the tripod does not connect to the camera, your tripod socket may need to be replaced. To fix this, click here and follow the replacement guide.

The pictures turn out blurry, and the camera will not focus.

Make sure the lens is set to autofocus (AF). Autofocus will not work if lens is set to manual focus (MF).

Autofocus may be failing if the lens or camera contacts are dirty. Clean lens and camera electrical contacts with a dry cloth. If you see that your camera lens is scratched or cracked, not just dirty, you can replace it by following this guide.
