The battery dies quickly.

Remove the battery and plug it into the charger. On the side of the charger, there is a light that will signify the status of the battery. If it’s flashing quickly, that means that the battery is too hot or cold to function. A slow flashing red means that the charge is pending. If it’s flashing red or green, then it is a damaged/faulty battery pack. Different chargers will vary. Check out this guide on how to replace a faulty battery.

Test the charger by using a voltage meter. If there is no reaction, replace the charger from a trusted purchasing source.

The clamp will not hold onto the sawing mechanism.

Check for debris inside the clamp slot to ensure that it’s clean. Dirt and debris can build up in the blade clamping mechanism, inhibiting it to hold onto the saw. You can clean the blade clamping mechanism by using a small brush to wipe out the debris. If there is no debris in the clamping mechanism, ensure that the blade itself is being installed correctly. If it’s clean and still not clamping, check this guide for replacement methods.

The trigger is stuck in a single position.

Attempt compressing the trigger past its return point to see if it will bounce back. Next, try pulling on the trigger cover to see if you can return it to the starting position manually. If you still cannot get your trigger to return to its resting state, see this guide on methods to replace a locked-up trigger.

The motor is not turning on.

If there is clearly power going to the motor and it’s creating a humming noise, then the motor might be locked up. Open up the motor to check and see if the gears are stripped so that you can accurately assess what needs to be replaced. See this guide for further instructions on replacing the motor.

If you can hear the motor running but it’s slow or has jerky movements, see troubleshooting section entitled “Gearbox Failure” below.

The gearbox is failing.

If you hear the motor running and the gears slipping, turn off the device and begin deconstructing it to isolate the problem. Visually inspect the gears to determine which ones need to be replaced. See this guide on how to replace the gearbox kit.
