Introduction
What you need
Step 1
Diagnose
- If the iron rotates when the foot switch is pressed and the heating plate is pressed against the roller, but does not move back when the switch is released, it is very likely that the return spring of the foot plate is broken. The heating plate should move back when the foot plate is manually pressed down at the back.
- If this is not the case, there is another defect.

Step 2
Loosen the aluminum base plate
- Remove aluminum footplate screws (torx wrench)
- Remove the screws from the spring (this is not the case for all years of manufacture, there are different concepts)
- The picture shows the rotary iron after repair.

Step 3
Install spring
- Drill a hole with a diameter of 4.5 mm, in the center of the plate of the steel foot between the feet, approx. 30 mm from the front edge.
- Deburr the hole, apply rust protection if necessary
- Fasten the spring to the top of the steel base plate using a washer, screw and nut.

Step 4
Assembly
- Proceed in reverse order to assemble the aluminum base plate.
- To position the two plastic holders, you can put your finger through the large holes in the steel base. Tighten the screws only slightly at first so that the plastic holders can still move slightly.
- Before they are finally tightened, the front curve of the aluminum foot plate must grip the plate of the steel foot, otherwise it will block it

Set up and test defects. After releasing the foot switch, the heating plate should come off the roller again. If the roller does not rotate when operated with one foot on one side, the spring will be too strong or too strongly preloaded. Then install a softer spring or shorten the spring.
