You can’t get your Surface Pro to turn on.

Ensure that all of the connections are snug and secure. To test if the power supply is working, plug any USB device (such as a cell phone) into the USB port on the power supply. If the USB device does not receive any power, the power supply is not functional. You will need a new power supply. A new power supply may be bought on the Microsoft website at Microsoft Store.

Operating temperature Surface is designed to work between 32°F and 95°F (or 0°C to 35°C). Lithium-ion batteries are sensitive to high temperatures, so keep your Surface out of the sun and don’t leave it in a hot car. If the Surface does not turn on after being charged or turns off after being disconnected from the power adapter, the battery pack may need to be replaced. A new battery pack may be purchased to replace it, but it is very pricey. The Battery Repair Guide will show you how to remove and re-install the battery pack.

The charging port looses its magnetic charge over time. It will make the adapter not connect appropriately to the Surface pro. The charging port can be bought from Microsoft.

If the previous steps did not solve the issue, the mother board of the device is not functioning properly. Currently, the motherboard is not being sold separately.

The screen is not responding to touch.

If the touch screen is cracked, scratched or damaged it may affect the accuracy of the touch screen. Screens that have an excessive amount of damage, cracks, or pieces missing may need to be replaced. If a replacement is needed, you can purchase a new screen at Microsoft or other authorized retailers.

If the Tablet is unresponsive to the user’s touch but otherwise appears to function normally, the problem may be a build of dirt or residue on the screen and the screen will need to be cleaned. First turn off your device. This makes the screen darker, so the dirt is easier to see. Using a microfiber cloth, wipe down the screen to remove all that unwanted dirt and residue. If you can’t get the screen clean with a dry cloth you can apply a tiny amount of water to the cloth and try again. Avoid applying water directly to the screen as this could damage your device. Maintaining clean hands and screen will minimize any obstructions between the sensors and your fingers allowing the device to function properly.

No sound is coming out from the device.

If your speakers are not working, try some of these things to see what the problem might be:

–Make sure that nothing is in the way of the speaker openings on the Surface Pro.

–Check for any audio accessories that are attached to the surface that may not be connected properly.

–Installing the latest version of Surface might fix the problem with sound.

–Reset your Surface

–Check your default audio settings

–Run troubleshooters to find your problem.

If any of these steps did not resolve the issue, you can use the Speaker Replacement Guide to replace the speakers.

Camera is not functioning.

The camera might not function even if it has not been physical damaged. In this situation, downloading the driver of the camera from Microsoft website and installing it might restore the functionality of the camera.

If re-installing the driver of the camera does not fix the issue or the camera has been physically damaged, the camera should be replaced. You can use the Camera Replacement Guide to replace the camera of your Microsoft Surface Pro.
