Phone loses power quickly

If the screen is too bright, it can cause the battery to drain. A solution is to turn off the automatic brightness and turn the brightness to low. Go to Settings, then go to System, then Display. From here, you can turn off the automatic brightness and turn the brightness to low.

If a software update is pending, it can drain the battery quickly. To stop a pending update from draining your battery, you must update the software. To do this, go to Settings and update to the newest version.

If your Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is set to update automatically, the automatic update can drain the battery quickly. Go to App Store application to turn off the automatic updates.

Phone will not charge

If the charger is faulty or has damaged wiring, it will not charge the phone. Check to make sure the charger is working by testing it with a compatible phone or check to see if phone will charge with another compatible charger.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL will not turn on

If your Microsoft Lumia 640 XL does not power on, make sure that it is charged. To charge the phone, take a phone charger with a Micro-USB and plug it into an outlet. Take the Micro-USB end of the charging cord and plug it into the phone. The phone will take about 2 hours to fully charge.

If your Microsoft Lumia 640 XL does not power on, restart the phone to clear out the full RAM. To restart the phone, find the power and volume buttons on the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL and hold them down at the same time. Do this until the device powers down, then let go of the buttons and the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL will turn on.

To update the software, plug the phone into a computer. To plug the phone into a computer, take the Micro-USB end of the cable and plug it into your phone. Then take the USB end of the cable and plug it into a computer. After plugging the phone into a computer, the computer will recognize the phone and display your phone in a Phone Selection screen. The available software for the phone should be displayed on the computer. Then select “Install software” or “Reinstall software.” This will download the software to your phone.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL won’t connect to the WiFi.

If your Microsoft Lumia 640 XL can’t connect to your WiFi, you might have to reset your device. Go to Setting, System, Reset Your Phone, from there you can reset your phone.

If your Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is connected to Bluetooth and WiFi at the same time, it can cause interference, making it so that the WiFi connection is not functional. To turn off the Bluetooth, go to Settings, Devices, then Bluetooth, from here the Bluetooth can be shut off.

If your phone is not connecting to WiFi, you may have to reset your wireless internet router. To reset your wireless internet router, first unplug the router from the outlet. Wait 20-30 seconds after unplugging the wireless internet router. Then, plug the router back into the outlet and wait about 2-3 minutes for the WiFi to come back on.
