  • Be sure to get around the battery cover and remove as much dirt, dust, and/or debris to ensure an easy removal.

  • Locate the spring pin under the band strap with the latch hole.
  • Insert a push-pin into the hole.
  • Push against the spring pin as needed until the band strap pops out.
  • Remove the spring pin.
  • Be sure to place the spring pin in a safe location. You will need it later for reassembling the watch.

  • Lay the watch clock face down on a dry, flat surface.

  • Place a spudger into the small notch on the edge of the battery cover.
  • Pry the battery cover, using as much force as necessary.
  • How well you cleaned around the battery cover in Step 1 may determine how much force you will need to use.
  • Remove the cover and place it to the side.

  • Remove the plastic piece and set it aside.
  • You can do this step using either a spudger or your fingers.

  • Remove the battery from the watch.
  • You can do this step using either a spudger or your fingers.
  • Batteries are considered hazardous waste. Do not throw away the battery. Keep it until you are able to dispose of it properly. Depending on where you live, some stores like Best Buy will recycle batteries for you at no charge.

  • Insert the new battery into the watch.
  • Depending on the brand you buy, the battery needs to be an SR616SW or a 321.

  • Insert the plastic piece back into the watch.
  • The inner flap of the plastic piece should lay right on top of the battery and cover it completely.

  • Lay the battery cover back onto the watch.
  • There is a very small notch under the cover that should line up with the crown of the watch.

  • Press firmly on the battery cover, using both of your thumbs to snap it back in place.

  • Re-insert the pin you removed into the hole of the smaller (lengthwise) folding segment.

  • Align both ends of the watch, holding the segment with the spring pin adjacent to the hole.

  • Place your wrist in the watch.
  • Relatch to ensure you correctly reassembled the watch.
