Step 2
Motherboard Installation- (Replacing the SSD)
- To get to the SSD the tablet must be open: Note this will void your device’s warranty.
- Open your tablet with care. The device should open when a slight amount of pressure is applied.
- After removing the back cover and the battery pack take a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the remaining screws that hold the encasement of the tablet’s inner housing.
- With the tablet now open, and the display screens lying face down, you will need to remove a few more cables before you can remove the motherboard.
- Keep the screws safe and gently pry the motherboard away from the case.
- Once you’re done, gently flip the motherboard over. The SSD can be found once you gently flip the motherboard over.
- You will find the SSD attached to the motherboard with one or two screws. Once both are detached, the small storage device will spring up. Lightly pull out the card, insert the larger upgrade, and then replace the screws, securing it in place.
