- Unscrew the two screws that hold together the top panel.

- Remove the top panel.

- Remove the motherboard to access the interior of the device.

- Remove disc drive by unscrewing the 2 screws that hold the drive in place.

- Identify the power cord.
- The cord must either be too short or torn to warrant replacement.

- Cut the old wire out from the chip.
- Attach the new wire into the housing.
- Line up new wire with the appropriate holes and solder to board.

After soldering, let cool and then reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
