- With the case closed, place the Unibody top-side down on a flat surface.
- Depress the grooved side of the access door release latch enough to grab the free end. Lift the release latch until it is vertical.

- The access door should now be raised enough to lift it up and out of the Unibody.

Battery
- Be sure the access door release latch is vertical before proceeding.
- Grab the white plastic tab and pull the battery up and out of the Unibody.

The battery in my Unibody Macbook won’t come out. I’ve tried everything. While it does move from side to side a little bit I am completely unable to remove it.

This is not an A1278 MacBook. I have one Infront of me and it uses a different battery and is attached entirely with screws not some access door.

This is not the unibody A1278 model, that battery is internal and the back cover has to come off.

I agree. Working on mine now. It’s quite different than this example. I hope examples of other repairs are more precise. I have at least the fan and heat sink left to do. Maybe more if it continues to overheat.
