  • Locate the gas cutoff valve and flip the switch to the left to shut it.

  • Grab the plastic housing at the end of the spark plug wire.
  • Pull firmly to disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

              Remove the intake guard               
  • Use a 1/2 inch wrench to remove the intake guard bolt behind the front wheel.

  • Use a 1/2 inch socket to remove the five bolts securing the intake guard.

  • Remove the intake guard.

              Remove the fan blade               
  • Use an impact wrench to remove the 5/8 inch bolt securing the fan blade to the spindle.

  • Remove the fan plug bolt and fan plug.

  • Remove the fan blade.

  • Use a pair of pliers to remove the key from the spindle.

  • Remove the fan spacer.
  • Wipe the old grease off the spindle with a shop towel and apply new grease before installing the replacement parts.
