              Linksys e1200 wireless router Maintenance to Prevent Overheating               
  • The router is made with ambient air vents that operate on convection. As the router heats up from activity, warm air moves out of the router, to be replaced by cooler air. Dust, dirt, & grime limit the effectiveness of the cooling, causing the circuit board to heat up and break down & fail faster.
  • Simply use some compressed air to force accumulated dirt out through to the other sides.

  • Placement of the device is of great importance. Make sure to place it in an area free of activity so the device does not fall or get damaged.
  • Do not place it on top of a computer, television or any area that produces heat. Do not place it below a desk or an area where dirt and dust accumulate.
  • Do not place on top of an air vent because they spit out duct and accumulate within the device.
  • Do not place anything on top of the device.
