My g4’s headphone could only produce sound on one side. So i bought a new headphone jack from ebay and replaced it. The problem still persists. Does this mean it could be a motherboard issue?

DarkAthena - Jul 21, 2016

Or a headphone issue. You did try a different pair of headphones?

Great! My headphone port couldn’t hold my headphones anymore because of wear & tear (they kept falling out) but this guide and a 6 dollar ebay-item fixed it! Thanks a lot.
