Introduction

Your laptop needs a motherboard to be able to be the laptop that you are using. The motherboard is what holds all the components and utilizes every feature that is promised with the Lenovo Yoga 720-12IKB.

Use caution when replacing the motherboard as you could hurt your hands. Be careful with the components on the motherboard as you remove it from the chassis as you could damage other components of the laptop.

What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Unscrew and remove the four 5.5 mm Phillips #00 screws on the back panel.

  • Pull down on the cover to remove it and you will see the battery after removing the cover.

  • Unscrew and remove the 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws on the battery to remove it from the motherboard.

  • Remove the battery wires from the socket on the motherboard above the battery.

  • Finally remove the battery from the case.

  • Unscrew and remove the 2.0 mm Phillips #00 screws.

  • Disconnect the connectors by lifting up the clip and pulling them out.

  • Remove the 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws from the fan.
  • Remove the 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws from the heatsink.

Step 10

  • Remove the 5.5 mm Phillips #00 screws from the hinge.
  • Remove the 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws froom the hinge.
  • Open the laptop a little to lift the hinge.

Remove the 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws froom the hinge.

Open the laptop a little to lift the hinge.

  • Remove the motherboard after all screws are out and connectors are disconnected.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
